Research Interests: Allen's research interests lie in the interplay between the molecular mechanisms of human physiology and their emergent properties. This interest has carried his career across a multitude of subjects and disciplines such as neruo-muscular exercise physiology, cellular calcium signaling, calmodulin signaling , oncogenic gene regulation, molecular hearing loss, and cystic fibrosis. 

Outside of the lab he enjoys cooking, building computers, backpacking, exercising, and building memories with his family.

Sustainability Interests: Optimizing BSC usage and techniques, creating sustainable lab reagent organization systems, and fostering a culture of sustainability in the lab.
