Danielle Zwiefelhofer
Research Associate: Frank Lab
Biography
Research Interests: Danielle's current research involves Familial Hemiplegic Migraine 1 (FMH1) amino-acid substitutions engineered into the Drosophila CaV2 voltage-gated calcium channel, Cacophony (Cac). This substitution leads to a hyperexcitability, increased lethality, and bang sensitivity. I am interested in screening for modifiers of this these phenotypes.
Sustainability Interests: Lab plastic recycling, reducing biohazardous waste, move away from single use plastics, and sustainability outreach and education.
Hobbies: Outside of lab I enjoy baking, biking, and crochet.
